The NPA Lower Hudson Valley Chapter

Hello fellow members of the Lower Hudson Valley Chapter of the NPA NYS!

I am writing to keep you informed about our chapter. During the past year our chapter has been undergoing a transformation. These changes came about as a result of leadership resignations and appointment times served. We are in the midst of rebuilding our chapter's leadership and anticipating an exciting year ahead. We are developing a dynamic leadership team. The slate of chapter positions as offered ran unopposed- therefore the following Board Officers and Chairs of the Lower Hudson Valley

Chapter are as follows:
  • President: Rochelle Kepes
  • Vice President: Marietta Api
  • Secretary: Mary Ellen Ryan
  • Treasurer: Renee Sevcik
  • Bylaws Chair: Ralphene Matuszewski
  • Community outreach/Volunteer Chair: Connie Serafin

A brief summary of our leadership responsibilities are:

President- Coordinates chapter programs and events, schedules and coordinates meetings, oversees ongoing chapter needs, communicates important information from NPA Board of Directors to local chapter members and from chapter members back to the Board. Other officers report to the President.

Vice President- Assists President as needed. Steps in to serve as President, if needed.

Secretary- records meeting minutes, posts meeting dates, maintains correspondence

Treasurer- Keeps accounting of funds, pays bills, reports on funds at each meeting, maintains records of taxable items.

In addition to the above elected positions we are in need for member involvement in the following committees:

Informatics Specialist (we are looking for someone with computer savvy to assist with posting events on the ENP network)

Special Electives (to assist with special events ie: BP screening, CME/CEU's, etc

Recruitment/Retention (New members outreach)

OUR VISION for the FUTURE includes:
  • Organizing meeting localities that are accessible to our members in all 3 counties (Putnam, Rockland and Westchester).
  • Increase our chapter's community involvement and volunteerism.

We would like to hear more ideas from our membership, and look forward to seeing you at our upcoming meetings.
