Featured on NPR Marketplace today, Wednesday, March 5, 2014: Nurse Practitioner Susan Thaller in Milwaukee's NP clinic operated by the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin and Marquette University. Millions of Americans now are getting health care coverage due to the Affordable Care Act...But some are getting stuck on Step 2 – that is, finding a physician, and particularly one who takes Medicaid. Florida NPs are ready, willing and able to help meet this shortage but all of our Legislators are not listening! Florida NPs cannot be empaneled as a primary provider by insurance groups that offer Medicaid HMO as long as we remain under physician supervision. Write your local legislator's and ask them to support our NP Practice Bills: HB 7071 and SB 1352.
