Elections and a Springy Hello

The Florida Chapter of NAPNAP

Hello all,

It has been awhile since I have sent an update on chapter meetings and such.  Sorry, growing a practice is not the easiest of things.  Although, it is thoroughly rewarding and worth the hard work.

I know we have not had a chapter meeting since Feb but getting people to commit to talking is an interesting adveture.  I am working on two specialists hopefuly one for the end of May and one in June or July.  If anyone knows of someone who would like to address the group, they need to have a master's degree or higher and able to speak for 1 hour.  As we offer CEUs as a chapter, that is why they have to have a Master's degree or higher.

Elections will be next month!!  I can hardly believe my 2 years are almost over.  It has been a lot of fun!  I will need nominations for Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and need to appoint a legislative liason.  If you or anyone you know would like to take on any of these rolls please contact me through the website or via email mdiakelly@comcast.net.  I will need your name, the nominees name, and contact information for both of you.  Elections should be online from June 15-25.  I will keep you all updated of the election process online.  The positions are for 2 years and require minimal time and effort each week, quarterly board meetings and our chapter meetings.  I have full requirements for each position which I will rovide to anyone who is interested in the position.

As spring has sprung, I am sure most of you are knee deep in 4-5 year old requiring vaccines.  The NAPNAP website has great information for ourselves and parents regarding vaccination.  Asthma and RSV is giving way to swimmer's ears and sunburns.  Remind your parents about the need for sunscreen, sunglasses and appropriate clothing.  Quick home remedy of 1/2 rubbing alcohol and 1/2 vinegar dropped in the ears after swimming can help to prevent swimmer's ear and it's pain.

I hope you all have a wonderful summer and get those nominations in for the elections!

Melissa
