Happy New Year!

Start the New Year off by committing to your profession and joining the only state-wide nurse practitioner association in New York State, The NPA (www.thenpa.org).

In the last few weeks, The NPA has been busy protecting and advancing our wonderful profession.

  • The NP Modernization Act, a momentous step forward for NPs in New York, went into effect on January 1, 2015. The Attestation Form (NP-CR) has been published for NPs with greater than 3600 practice hours.
  • A scathing editorial about the NP profession was published in the NY Post. The NPA swiftly responded with a facts to set the record straight.
  • One of our Western NY Chapter nurse practitioners, Mary Cerillo, had her own practice featured and included information about how the Nurse Practitioners Modernization Act will effect her. To see the NBC-affiliate video, click here

The NPA has much more in store for our members this year. You can expect more robust member benefits, additional legislative priorities and of course, continued exlusive content about your practice that can't be found elsewhere. For example, did you know members have access to our Professional Practice Inquiry Service? This members-only benefit can help you answer questions on the NP Modernization Act, Billing/Coding, and other professional practice questions unique to NPs.

We hope you decide to join and also come out in person to attend one of our local Chapter meetings. Join or re-join today. We simply cannot support the profession with only a fraction of eligible nurse practitioner members in NY!
