Denver, CO
The Colorado Society of Advanced Practice Nurses

Connie McMenamin is running for secretary

I am interested in this position because I would like to become more formally involved in my professional organization with the goal of becoming a member of the DNA #30 Board of Directors. My current passion for politics with my involvement with the Colorado Nurse Association (CNA), Government Affair Public Policy, (GAPP) committee, will allow me to interact within and across both groups. This is an exciting time for APRNs both this legislative session in Colorado and with the sweeping momentum across the states.

I currently work at the Children's Hospital Colorado in the Pain Management Service and have been in this position since February, 2013. In addition to my formal duties, I also co-chair the annual Pediatric Advanced Practice Conference. More recently, I started working per-diem for The Little Clinics. In these various roles, I have a great opportunity to interact with health care providers and patients across many settings. Prior to returning to Colorado in June, 2012, I lived in rural Nevada and worked in the family practice setting for 10 years. It was during this time that my political activism kept me busy with both Nursing and Advanced Practice legislative issues as well as being involved in community based organizations and boards. Prior to Nevada, I worked at The Children's Hospital as a Registered Nurse from 1986-1997.

My additional interests are my family, health and fitness, as well as my longstanding goal to become bilingual in Spanish.

Stacey Wall us running for president elect:

My name is Stacey Wall, and I am interested in serving on the board of the Colorado Nurses Association Advanced Practice District 30. I have been a pediatric registered nurse for twenty years, and have been practicing as a pediatric nurse practitioner (PNP) for the past nine years. I earned my BSN from Clemson University in 1995, my PNP Master's degree from University of Colorado College of Nursing in 2006, and expect to graduate from the University of Colorado Doctor of Nursing Practice program this May, 2015. My leadership experience includes my former position as the Director of the Advanced Practice Hospitalist Program at Children's Hospital Colorado. I recently started an exciting new position as the Director of Advanced Practice for Children's Hospital, representing approximately 475 advanced practice providers. I am seeking a board position with the DNA30 to advocate for advanced practice nurses at my institution as well as at the local, state, and national level.
I have previously served as a board member for the Colorado Chapter of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP) as a student representative, immunization chair, legislative chair, and chapter president. I am committed to the work of the Colorado Nurses Association, and would love the opportunity to work for the interests of my APRN colleagues as a member of the DNA30 board. Please consider me for the position of President-Elect in the upcoming DNA30 elections!
