Professional Achievements:
As Chattanooga Area Nurses in Advanced Practice (CANAP) previous President Elect, President, former President, and Webmaster, I took special interest in promoting CANAP professionally. A few of the accomplishments included: creating a picture directory, voting in a new logo, reestablishing active status of board positions Programs chair, bylaws chair, members chair, marketing/PR chair and legislative chair. After acquiring the domain name canap.org, and having a new website built, CANAP took on a professional look. This website had a calendar, hidden members only area for employment, on- line directory with a way to identify those willing to precept, bylaws, discussion, and newsletter. It was a joy to lead out in the meetings with CANAPs full board-members support, and cohesive members. I'm pleased to see that CANAP has continued in advancing the professional look of our group, and am happy to continue to be part of CANAP.
Although retired as a NP, I look back on some of my experiences that I had the opportunity to study and practice including endocrinology, cardiology, neurology, and oncology navigator team leadership. As a RN, I mostly enjoyed the area of long term care. RN license continued.
Currently, I'm practicing my early professional skills in child care. It is highly rewarding to guide, and be part of my grandchildren's lives.
