Professional Achievements:

I have been an active member of NTNP since 2009 and I absolutely love it! NTNP has been a great source of motivation, friendships, learning, and networking through the many good people I have met over the years. I was an NTNP scholarship recipient in 2010; one of the active organizers of the NTNP Annual Spring CE Conferences for two years in 2011 and 2012; NTNP-NP of the Year in 2012; and Secretary of NTNP for the year 2014. I earned an MSN-Family Nurse Practitioner degree from Texas Woman’s University (TWU), Denton; a Post-Masters Certificate in Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) School of Nursing, Lubbock; and a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from TWU, Dallas. I also hold an Adult CCRN Certification from American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN); and an RN First Assistant (RNFA) Certification from NIFA. In 2012, I was chosen Winner of the First-Ever "Excellence in Nursing Award" by D Magazine and featured in the March 2012 issue of D Magazine, Dallas. I currently work in the Cardiology Electrophysiology unit at UT Southwestern Medical Center Clements University Hospital in Dallas and I am also an Adjunct Faculty at the TWU FNP Program. I am married to a CPA husband and we have a bright young daughter who is in the MD degree program at TTUHSC-School of Medicine, Lubbock with aspirations to become a Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon. We make our home in the Carrollton-Lewisville area North of Dallas. Gardening is my hobby and passion which gives me relaxation and contentment.

Favorite Thing About My Profession:

I love to help people and I love the art of nursing and the science of medicine. Nursing is the Heart of Healthcare and Essence of Caring!
