Professional Achievements:

I've worked in healthcare in many capacities for nearly 45 years: 10 years as a pharmacy clerk; 10, as a Physical Therapist's Assistant and Massage Therapist-LMT and Personal Trainer. For one semester, I taught as a Co-instructor in the Aquatherapy course at KCC for the Physical Therapist Assistant program. 

I earned my BSN degree at UHM SONDH and have maintained my RN license for 18 yrs. I worked at Kaiser Hospital as a Med/Surg Nurse before serving as the Director of Health Services at Hawaii Kai Assisted Living Facilities.

I've been a Cannabis Nurse Educator in Hawaii for 11 years, teaching about the endocannabinoid system and medical cannabis.

I serve as the Chair of the Education and Research Committee for the American Cannabis Nurses Association. 

I've lectured about medical cannabis to over 450 healthcare professionals and hundreds of people at medical cannabis conferences on Oahu, Maui, Kauai and Hawaii Island.  

I am now working with Hawaii's DOH, Office of Medical Cannabis Control and Regulation to educate medical cannabis patients about enhancing endocanabinoid system health through diet and activities (and cannabis) 

I am an occasional guest lecturer at UHM School of Nursing and have given presentations at 2 CME and 2 CEU conferences for: Epilepsy Foundation; Dermatologist Convention and at American Cannabis Nurses Assn and Patients Out of Time events. I recently served as an assistant to the main organizer and was a panelist at the October 2025 Patients Out of Time medical cannabis conference.

I created and presented a 1 CEU webinar for the ACNA called "Cannabis and Cancer in 2021" and will be giving a poster presentation at an ACNA event on Oct. 24, 2025. 

Virtues:

I promote excellence in Cannabis Nursing and teach other healthcare professionals about the human endocannabinoid system and how the herb can be used as a safe and effective medicine. I am a member of the American Cannabis Nurses Association and the Cannabis Nurses Network. I have earned 40 CEUS in medical cannabis education certifications.
