Favorite Thing About My Profession:

I was originally an ENT Surgeon qualified in India, and am also ECFMG-qualified, but decided to remain a Physician Assistant to remain in ENT.

I’m currently work at the JPS Hospital (Team Acclaim) Dept of ENT since May 16, 2016. I’m also studying towards a DMSc (Doctorate in Medical Sciences), graduation date June 2023. My very brief Bio is available at the Acclaim website at

https://www.teamacclaim.org/care-treatment/ent/

and at

https://www.teamacclaim.org/find-a-doctor/profile/dennis-dey/?searchId=75f521f6-9022-eb11-a834-000d3a61151d&sort=10

I would be most obliged if you could consider me for the post of PA in ENT. My Clinical Supervisor currently is Dr Jordan Cain, MD, http://www.drjordancain.com/  I am enrolled in the DMSc (Doctorate of Med Sciences) course in ATSU, in the Education track and hope to graduate in 2023.

The ENT Dept was initially started with Dr Naren Venkatesan (Laryngologist, currently at Baylor) and Dr Dwight Cramer (General ENT), but in Sep 2017, they both left leaving me the sole provider in charge of the ENT Out Patients Clinic. Dr Venkatesan left for Baylor https://www.bswhealth.com/physician/naren-venkatesan and Dr Cramer left for his heavenly abode. I have been shouldering the entire ENT Out Patients Clinic alone since Sep 2017.

My daily duty is to maintain the ENT OPC 8 am-5 pm (sometimes 6 pm), triaging patients referred from the very wide catchment area, and treating those I can medically, and preparing those requiring surgery for further referral. For instance,

(1) EAR: Cleaning ears, removing Foreign Bodies, treating ASOM, CSOM, treating different forms of Otitis Externa, identifying cholesteatomas, interpreting Audiograms, Referring to the Audiologist when required, identifying & treating Sudden SNHL, etc.

(2) NOSE: Identifying causes of refractory nasal obstruction, prescribing the correct CT Sinus with Stryker Protocol, preparing pts for septal surgery, FESS, and antrostomy.

(3) THROAT: Performing Laryngoscopy, identifying causes of Chronic Cough, identifying masses – thyroid, salivary, etc, working them up preparatory to referral.

JPS maintains good relations with the Texas Health Center’s Dr Jesse Smith, Dr Cristobal, Dr Vories, Dr Ducic, to whom we send the patients that have to be referred out. I’m confident that I’ll be able to manage ENT Out Patients anywhere.

I’m currently studying towards a Doctorate in Med Sciences (Teaching) from ATStill University (ATSU). My Resume is attached. I could provide recommendations from JPS providers if required.
