2014 to present Director, Advanced Practice, Research, and Policy with the Nursing Care Quality Assurance Commission, Olympia, WA. Staff position promoted to director providing consultation to the Nursing Commission in the areas of research, policy, and advanced practice.
2012 to present, Consultant, Center to Champion Nursing in America (CCNA) a national initiative of AARP, the AARP Foundation, and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RJWF) located in the AARP Public Policy Institute, Washington DC. Consultation primarily in the area of nursing education and leadership supporting the Campaign for Action implementation of the Institute of Medicine’s landmark report, The Future of Nursing: Leading Change, Advancing Health as a senior policy analyst. Was awarded a fellowship in 2011 then offered a position to serve as the senior nursing education consultant. 2011 Fellow, Center to Champion Nursing in America, AARP Public Policy Institute, Washington DC. Supporting the Campaign for Action implementation functioned as a senior policy analyst, providing technical assistance in support of the IOM recommendations while on sabbatical from Gonzaga University.
