Professional Achievements:
Kaiser Permanente Status of Nurse Practitioner III position as Clinical Expert. Original certification 2002 - 11/01/2012. As a Nurse Practitioner III I consistently demonstration clinical excellence and a forward vision as a Nursing Leader at Kaiser Permanente. This included participation in the RN professional performance committee which met on a monthly basis to address the issues of RN’s, within the hospital and the clinic. This included issues of performance, staffing, education and concerns of nursing staff. I also participated in a separate committee which addressed the concerns of NP's which was called the NP Professional performance committee which addressed similar concerns from NP's. Women's Health and Family Nurse Practitioner Preceptor - I have had a career long relationship prior to moving to Washington of precepting Women's Health and later Family Nurse Practitioner students which I enjoyed greatly with UCSF school of Nursing. I also advocated for their continued training at Kaiser Permanente during my tenure there. This culminated in the UCSF Preceptor of the year award in 2011. California Nurses Association: I was an active member of CNA and a Nurse Representative for 2 terms of 2 years @ Kaiser Permanente in Oakland, California. CNA is the most powerful nurses’ union in the country and was pivotal in advocating for the rights of both Nurses and patients in northern California. The period that I participated was from about 2006 until the time I left in 2011. This included the participation in conferences, attending meetings, participating in the negotiating of contracts, providing information for Nurses, advocating for nurses at government agencies, attending workshops and travel to promote the agenda of CNA for nurses and patients. I also represented RN's during their grievances with Kaiser Permanente.Favorite Thing About My Profession:
