Professional Achievements:
Appointed as First Executive Director of Florida NP Network and founding board member in 2002. Recently sold my 23yr pracitce in Tampa (Aug 2019). Now volunteering for Judeo Christian Health Clinic in the Primary Care Clinic and working at Team Health Moffitt Cancer Center Part Time. Charter Member of AANP in 1985 and inducted as a AANP Fellow 2008. Served with AANP:, AANP Florida NP of the year award 1999, past Fl State representative and served 8 years as Region 11 Director on AANP BOD. ANA member since 1974, FNA Lamplighter w/ 25+ Years Member FNA, an FNA member since 1979-2018; Founding officer of FNPN 2002, Past President & Treasurer, Pac Treasurer, Florida College of Nursing '80 & '84. Honored in 2016 to be a life-member of FNPN and have a Scholarship started in my name to assist up and coming new NPs! I also funded a scholarship for a RN-BSN student at University of Tampa in honor of my mother Margaret Henderson who volunteered as a consultant to create and develop the first nursing program at UT in 1982 as served as the starting director to launch the nursing program.
Favorite Thing About My Profession:
Owned my own practice for 23 years, Flexibility to be able to volunteer and give back to the profession. Meeting many interesting people and assisting them to be informed health care consumers.
Virtues:
Established a successful business in 1998, owner of Tampa Occupational Health Services, Regular NP volunteer medical clinic and Member of the Board of Directors, Judeo Christian Health Clinic since 1985. NRCME Course Trainer 2013-14. Served on NRCME CME test development 2012-14. Historian, Florida Nursing History Project, 2015 AANP Fellows Hx Project and 50th Anniversary Hx Project.
