Professional Achievements:
Continuous academic growth has allowed me to continue to progress into new adventures in healthcare of my preference. Starting out in ICU as a staff nurse to curruntly a doctoral prepared Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN), specialized in psychiatry. This journey has provided me with the knowledge and skills needed to provide quality service, and to prescribe the best path to health. Additionally, the skills in management roles as a Director of Nursing Service of large skilled care facilities, as an Administrator, a corporate legal nurse consultant/risk management consultant with over 20 years of experience has provided the administrative skills needed to ensure cost controls where allowed and within regulatory guidelines. Four and half years of experience with the Veterans Affairs as a clinical nurse coordinator in primary care setting also has improved my practice using the medical home model concepts. This model utilizes integrated care concepts that a mental health care practice can benefit from as well. I have worked as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner for 8.5 years and loving every minute of it. I am looking forward to many more years of caring for and learning for those I serve.
