Favorite Thing About My Profession:

Patient interaction is my favorite thing about being a nurse. Not many can say they feel fulfilled in their careers, but nursing fulfills so many things. I always put myself in the patients shoes no matter what is going on and think "How would I want to be taken care of?" Working in the ED I have seen the worst of the worst, held many a dying patient's hand, reassured a loved one that their family member will be ok, held a mother who can not stand because the grief is just to unbearable, and so many more things. Nursing is not just a career it is a way of life. I look forward to where this road will take me, as I begin my career as a nurse practitoner.
