Nurse Practitioner at Stanford Health Care - Pain Medicine

Theresa is an Adult Nurse Practitioner with over 27 years’ experience at Stanford Health Care in Palo Alto, California. She received her graduate degree from University of California, San Francisco. Theresa’s current clinical practice focuses primarily on evaluation and treatment of individuals suffering from acute and chronic pain conditions in both the hospital and outpatient settings. As part of her commitment to education and professional development, she lectures extensively on topics surrounding pain management both locally and regionally. Theresa has been part of the PAINWeek faculty since 2015. She has written numerous articles and authored text chapters on topics pertaining to pain assessment and management. Theresa is a clinical preceptor for NP and PA students in the greater Bay Area; she also mentors and instructs the fellows and residents on the Stanford Pain Service.

hris has been board certified as an adult nurse practitioner since 1999. He has also gone on to earn his Orthopedic Nurse Practitioner Certification (ONP-C). His specialty has been in the adult orthopedic spine for the last 23 years. Chris has spent over 12 years moonlighting in the emergency department near his hometown in the St. Louis area. He is on the executive board for the Association of Missouri Nurse Practitioners (AMNP). He has also published in JNP, Orthopedic Nursing, & the International Journal of Therapy and rehabilitation. Chris has also presented numerous webinar presentations for various organizations in his field of expertise over the years. Dr. Hemmer started teaching as an adjunct for Saint Louis University in 2007. In 2013, Christopher accepted a full-time position with the nursing school as an assistant professor for graduate students. He has since been promoted to full tenure Associate Professor at Saint Louis University School of nursing. Chris frequently presents orthopedic and radiologic talks on the local, state, and national levels over the years.

Shelagh Larson

Shelagh Larson is from Fort Worth, Texas. She received her BSN from UTMB. She has two great kids, Leigh (25) and Richard (23). She went back for her WHNP in 2003 and her Doctorate in Nurse Practice in 2018 both from Texas Woman’s University. She is a nationally certified menopause provider through NAMS. More recently she founded the first APP council in her hospital and was elected as the first non-physician to serve on the medical board. She is the co-founder of the inter-professional Menopause Clinic at JPS. Shelagh served as president of FWRNP for over 7 years. Where it was transformed from a dinner club to a thriving professional association that has raised thousands of dollars for scholarships, charity, and the TNP PAC. For TNP she served as the Area Representative, 5 years on the Government Action committee, four years of those as the chair, has presented in the past ten annual conferences. She currently serves on the TNP executive board in the position of secretary. She is on the TNP Policy Committee, inspiring the legislative ambassadors in north Texas. She is a TNP Legacy member. Shelagh is the north Texas AANP representative bridging state and national policy.
